NINA BILBEY MASTER CARVER

A Saxon princess born in 614 who established the first religious community for women in England.

Commissioned by Kent Council, this Portland Statue stands proudly at the centre of Radnor Park Folkestone, a popular community meeting point. Inspired by stained glass at the local church and a black and white image of the original statue from 1942, She holds an idealised image of the chapel, and a pair of fish a common device representing the Christian faith.
